2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Against the Competition

Being in the market for a brand-new SUV can be difficult. With so many new models coming out, it becomes impossible to distinguish one from the next and know for certain which model best suits your lifestyle and driving needs. If you're looking for a mix of space and style, try exploring the crossover category. These models are sleek and spacious without going overboard, feature amenities that will keep you connected and safety precautions that will keep you secure.

At Jason Pilger Hyundai in Gautier, we offer Mississippi drivers the chance to buy or lease the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. This new crossover takes safety, style and space to a whole new level. While you're browsing different crossover models, you may also stumble across another 2019 model: the Kia Sorento. While this crossover is a worthy opponent of the 2019 Santa Fe, we want to show those we serve from Gulfport to Mobile, AL why the Santa Fe is a better match based on a side-by-side look at both models.

2019 Hyundai Santa Fe vs. 2019 Kia Sorento

  • Standard Safety: The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe was built with safety in mind. That's why it features more standard safety features than the 2019 Kia Sorento. Features including Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection are just a few of the standard ways the 2019 Santa Fe aims to keep its occupants safe in all seven trim options - more than the six that the 2019 Sorento offers.
  • Even More Safety: Did we mention two exclusive, advanced safety features come standard in the 2019 Santa Fe? The Safe Exit Assist is an ideal feature for a family-designed crossover. The Safe Exit Assist prevents rear doors from being opened if the Santa Fe senses traffic approaching from behind. The Rear Occupant Alert feature alerts drivers visually and audibly if it detects a passenger in the vehicle's rear. Neither feature is found in the 2019 Kia Sorento.
  • Transmission & Drive Type: Despite equal horsepower and torque found in both crossovers, the 2019 Santa Fe goes the extra mile by offering all-wheel drive as the drive type on all its trims. The 2019 Sorento only offers it on five of its six trims. Both models come standard with front-wheel drive. As far as transmission is concerned, the 2019 Santa Fe is equipped with standard eight-speed automatic transmission across all seven trims unlike the Sorento's mix of six-speed and eight-speed transmissions. Plus, the Santa Fe's transmission comes with the SHIFTRONIC® feature that shifts gears on demand and allows drivers to preset shift patterns for circumstances like venturing uphill, driving in snow, etc.
  • Comfort Amenities: While both models aim to please drivers and passengers with stylish design and technology components, the 2019 Santa Fe features more front-seat headroom than the 2019 Sorento. This extra space gives drivers and front-seat passengers the added comfort they need during shorter daily commutes and longer road trips. Plus, winter won't be nearly as difficult with the standard heart front seats in the 2019 Santa Fe, excluding its SE trim. Less than half of the 2019 Sorento trims come with this standard amenity.
  • Technology: The Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go feature is geared to enhance the safety side of regular cruise control by helping drivers maintain a safe distance between their vehicle and the vehicle in front of them. It will even apply braking to bring the vehicle to a complete stop if necessary. This feature comes standard on all 2019 Santa Fe trims, but is only seen on a few 2019 Sorento trims. The 2019 Santa Fe, excluding the SE trim, even keeps drivers connected with a complimentary three-year service of Blue Link®, which allows them to remotely control their vehicle.
